How to wash silk: delicate touch, long-lasting radiance

Preparing the silk for washing

Before washing silk, you must carefully examine the garment to evaluate any stains or marks that require particular attention. Next, treat stains promptly with a gentle silk stain remover, ensuring it is suitable for delicate fabrics.

Silk washing

Hand washing silk is certainly more suitable than washing it in the washing machine, it will ensure that the fabrics are not damaged and will preserve the delicate fibers and brilliant shine.

It is advisable to immerse the silk garment in cold water, using only specific delicate detergents. Silk releases impurities quickly, there is no need to leave it in the water for a long time.

The next step in washing silk is to gently scrub the fabric in water, focusing on areas with stains or dirt residue. Use your fingertips to lightly massage the fabric, ensuring a gentle, even clean. Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all traces of detergent have been removed.

We recommend not wringing the silk to remove excess water, but placing the wet garment on a white cotton towel, then rolling up the ends so that the towel absorbs the excess.

Silk drying

To dry the silk we recommend hanging the garment on a padded hanger. The silk drying process should take no more than an hour, taking care to keep it away from direct heat sources and the sun's rays.

Silk care and conservation

To best preserve your silk garments, we recommend finding a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and humidity to preserve their shine and softness. Fold them neatly and store them in a breathable fabric bag or drawer to protect them from dust and potential damage.

Pro Tip: To maintain the luxurious feel and smooth texture of your silk scarf, consider adding a few drops of conditioner to the final rinse water. This helps restore moisture and keep the fibers elastic and radiant.

Embrace luxury, preserve elegance

With care and attention, your silk foulard will continue to radiate timeless beauty and sophistication. Embrace the art of dedication and respect for excellence.
